How it works

No mystery. No pressure. Five steps.

Most contractor horror stories come from not knowing what happens next. Here is exactly what happens next — the same five steps on every Kingbird project.

Book

Pick a time online or call (800) 555-0134. We confirm the appointment, tell you who's coming, and show up when we said we would.

Inspect

A 21-point inspection of the roof, attic ventilation, flashing, and exterior — with photos of everything we find. You see what we see, good or bad.

Decide

One fair price, in writing, with the scope spelled out line by line. Take a week. Get other bids. The number doesn't change and nobody hounds you.

Build

Our own crew, a protected yard, daily photo updates from your project lead, and a magnetic nail sweep every single night — not just the last one.

Backed

Final walkthrough with you, the Crown Warranty in writing, and an optional Kingbird Watch checkup every year after.

Build day, hour by hour

What a roof replacement day looks like.

WhenWhat's happeningWhat you'll notice
7:00 amCrew arrives; tarps over landscaping, plywood over A/C, trailer positionedIntroductions, then noise — sorry in advance
MorningTear-off down to the deck; decking inspected board by boardThe loudest part of the day
MiddayDry-in: ice & water shield, synthetic underlayment, new flashingYour roof is already waterproof again
AfternoonShingles, ridge vent, ridge cap, penetrations sealedThe roof you picked, taking shape
EveningDebris hauled, magnetic sweep of lawn and driveway, walkthroughA clean yard and a finished roof

Larger roofs, steep pitches, and metal systems run multiple days — same rhythm, same nightly cleanup. Your schedule is in the written quote.

While we're there

Your home gets treated the way job sites rarely are.

  • Landscaping, pools, and A/C units covered before the first shingle moves
  • One project lead, one phone number — no "let me check with the office" runaround
  • Photo updates as the day progresses — see your roof from the roof
  • Surprises photographed, shown, and approved by you before they're fixed or covered
  • Magnetic nail sweep every night — a driveway you can trust barefoot
Good questions

Asked, answered.

How long does the whole process take, start to finish?

From first call to finished project: the inspection usually happens within a few days — you get the number at the visit, with the written quote in your inbox the same day — and most builds are scheduled within one to three weeks depending on season and material lead times. The build itself: one to two days for a shingle roof, one to two days for whole-home windows, three to seven for siding.

Do I have to be home during the inspection or the build?

For the inspection, we prefer you're there for the walkthrough at the end — it's your roof, and the photos make more sense with the advisor beside you. During the build, no. Your project lead sends updates and photos as the day progresses, and we walk the finished work with you before we call it done.

Will there be a salesperson in my living room for three hours?

No. The advisor who inspects your home gives you a verdict, a written price, and leaves. The price doesn't change if you decide in a week instead of on the spot, and nobody calls you five times a day afterward. Those are promises #1 and #3 of the Kingbird Standard.

What happens if you find surprises mid-build — rotten decking, hidden damage?

We stop, photograph it, show you, and price the fix before covering anything. Surprises get documented and approved by you, never buried and never invoiced as a mystery line item.

What does cleanup actually include?

Landscaping and A/C units protected before we start, debris into our trailer (not your yard), magnetic nail sweeps of the lawn and driveway every night of the build, and a final walkthrough. If you find a nail after we leave, call us and we'll come sweep again.
